Back to Back Wins!

Been very busy, but since the last amazing come back win over Thailand Tigers...no decent Slinger fan should miss this Wednesday 6th Jan game against the current #1 league standing Philippines Patriots. And the reward for those who came despite a jam from the soccer game at the stadium (Yes you soccer fans who are sick of supporting a losing soccer team - come support Slingers!) , was a sweet win over the Patriots! Checking out the Facebook ABL status and comments after the game showed a muted response as the game ends...even sweeter!

Just check out the new scoreboard and format and the scores in the first quarter to the final second.

No kidding, this was out 1st quarter scores, down by 12.

This was the final score. 8% discount for Botak Jones customers!

The boys came in and took the game. Repeating what the game announcer shouted: "This is OUR HOUSE!".."Whose HOUSE is this?"..."SINGAPORE!"

Steven's trey giving the team a comfortable 9 point lead at under 1 min.

Leblanc carried the team with 21 points but in my humble opinion Steven Khoo coming in for hardworking Marcus Ng (Marcus fouled out in the final minutes), confirmed the win with a scoring surge and got the crowd crazy. Also pulling a commendable performance was co-captain Michael Wong, who controlled the ball/game well and firm. Both Khoo (FG:75%) and Wong (FG:100%) scored 8 points playing about 20 mins each with 100% 3-point from both....meaning one each.

Team huddle to wrap it up.

Coach sat out Desmond Oh for unsure reasons, he was dressed and does not look injured. Weijian and Weilong both were 0% FGs with scores coming from FTs, had limited minutes <10mins. For more stats, check out here.

#1 Powell who is exasperated and cannot believe they have lost.

Point to note: The Patriots played like the Nemesis team, who was a strong #2 in the Jammers Amateur league but lost to Spartans (the team I play in) twice- how so? The Patriots bench was counting down the 24 secs time quicker than it really was, making the Slingers shoot faster thinking they are out of time. This seriously should have been a technical foul. But we all know Heaven is fair.

And oh yeah SingaporeAddict has been very lazy with pictures, game reports...go shoot him!

Do join us for the 3rd win over KL Dragons whom we last saw defeated us in our home ground. But hey, the Slingers team right now is somewhat different and confident!
